Tools of the Trade
Tools of the Trade is so named because its subjects are tools of my trade, which is to say that I’m and architect, and for 50 years or so I have used yellow tracing paper as an integral tool of my practice. I used it in only one way, laid flat, to draw and to trace, the paper roll in my left hand and a Pentel mechanical pencil loaded with HB lead in my right. Sometime in early 2021 I began to see my habitual companion in a different light, as it were, and I began to explore its hitherto unimagined magical and expressive potential. Now almost a year later, I am still finding new ways to use my versatile tool.
